The Centre of Excellence for Mental Health (CEMH) conference on November 15, 2024 featured leading scholars Dr. Tina Montreuil, Marie-Claude Geoffroy and Karina Béland.
Tina Montreuil, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the department of Educational and Counselling Psychology and an Associate Member of the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at McGill University, as well as director of Childhood Anxiety and Regulation of Emotions Laboratory C.A.R.E. Research Group, will present Supporting Students’ Social Emotional Well-Being in Changing Times: Leveraging the Socialization Potential of professionals & Educators.
Youth Suicide Prevention in Schools: Best Practices in Screening, Assessment, Management and Prevention will be presented by Marie-Claude Geoffroy and Karina Béland. Marie-Claude Geoffroy is clinical psychologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University and the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. She holds a Canada Research Chair in Youth Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Promotion and is a member of the College of New Scholars of the Royal Society of Canada.
Her co-presenter, Karina Béland, is a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in treating children and adolescents with severe mental disorders. Dr. Béland is an affiliate member of the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University and a clinical supervisor in psychology at the university.
